Today, it looked as if the sky had finally recovered from the storms that plagued it. They were only temporary. Sometimes I have to remind myself that this is only temporary. Quarantine is temporary, the quarantine will end. We will go back to how things used to be. Back when I stayed at home as a personal choice and not a government mandate.

The clear sky sang spring to me, and as if the birds could read my mind, their chirping sounded amplified as I was writing my final for biology. So, in the spirit of the changing season, I decided to make a smoothie remnant of spring itself. Cantaloupe and banana seemed like the obvious choice, and I decided to add some turmeric to reach that beautiful golden color, and for the health benefits of course 😉

This smoothie is equal parts sweet and refreshing, and it only requires 4 ingredients! I know, crazy right? Sometimes the best things in life are actually quite simple.

Okay, let’s get to the recipe:

Ingredients:

– 1 cup of canteloupe

– 1 banana

– 1/2 -1 cup of almond milk

– 1 teaspoon of turmeric

Directions:

1. Add ingredients to the blender, and blend. If it’s too thick, add more almond milk.

2. Add ice to make it cold.
